Don’t we all, Peyton. Don’t we all.
Former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning made an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s alternate broadcast of Game 1 of the NBA Finals last week and he shared his excitement for Denver’s upcoming season.
Manning likes the Broncos’ chances of bouncing back under new head coach Sean Payton in 2023, but he acknowledged that the pesky Kansas City Chiefs will likely remain a thorn in the side of Denver’s franchise.
“Just saw Russell Wilson down there. Sean Payton is sitting next to me. I like my Broncos,” Manning told Smith. “Sean has brought some new juice here. He’s going to get the best out of Russell. Russell feels rejuvenated as well. I wish the Chiefs would get out of the division, Stephen A. Unfortunately, they’re not going anywhere. So, we’ve still got some work to do.”
The Broncos have lost 15 straight games to Kansas City since 2015. Denver’s last win against the Chiefs came when Manning was still playing. While the Broncos have struggled since Manning’s retirement, KC has thrived.
Manning hopes to see balance restored in the division soon.
