Josh Allen had another tough game for the Bills on Monday night, as he threw for just 177 yards and one touchdown in Buffalo’s stunning loss to the Broncos.
Allen also threw two more interceptions, bringing his season total to a NFL-leading 11. The Bills are now 5-5 after the loss and are a bit of mess.
Allen’s second interception of the night came late in the second quarter with the Bills trailing, 12-8. Peyton Manning couldn’t believe the throw Allen tried to pull off, saying he learned quickly during his days at Tennessee that he knew he couldn’t make those type of throws in the NFL.
“In my freshman year in college at Tennessee I threw an out route from the right hash to the far left side of the sideline and I would never make that throw in the NFL because you just don’t know how hard it is,” Manning said on ESPN2’s Manningcast. “You stop making these throws because, like I said, these defenders can cover a lot of ground. They can close gaps. I like boundary throws, short-side throws, especially on these deep out routes. Josh has got to learn from that one and has to come out and protect the ball better in the second half.”
