Tom Brady retired shortly after the Bucs’ playoff loss to the Rams, saying he wanted to spend time with his family, move on to other things in his life and all the other cliche stuff that athletes say when they decide to call it quits.
Then just 41 days later he announced that his retirement was over and he’d be rejoining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd season in the NFL.
Things can sure change in a hurry!
Peyton Manning, who had a ton of battles against Brady back in the day, joked on Sunday that he gave Brady some retirement gifts and that he wants them back. Those gifts were a letter in which Manning apparently heaped a ton of praise on Brady and a bottle of wine.
Here’s Manning having some fun on Sunday:
Peyton Manning said that, when Tom Brady retired, he sent him a handwritten note and a bottle of wine.
Now, he jokes, he wants the letter and the wine back.@1MINTCollective pic.twitter.com/0omJtNjDLe
