Peyton Manning And Tom Brady's Friendly Rivalry Continues Strong

Tom Brady looks happy

In March 2007, following his Super Bowl XLI victory with the Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning was set to host an episode of Saturday Night Live. Manning, who had just secured his first championship, was eager to showcase his success, especially in comparison to Tom Brady, who had three Super Bowl wins at the time. The rivalry between Manning and Brady was a defining feature of football during that era.

During the SNL episode, Manning contemplated including a joke about Brady in his monologue. However, he ultimately decided against it, opting instead for a self-deprecating remark about Brady having more championship rings than him. The joke, although not executed, was described as a 'soft burn' by those involved.

Later, Manning participated in the Netflix 'Roast of Tom Brady,' where he took the opportunity to poke fun at Brady's hair, retirements, and Super Bowl losses. Manning humorously highlighted their shared love for golf, noting his handicap compared to Brady's tendency to lose Super Bowl leads to Manning's brother, Eli, who defeated Brady's Patriots twice in the championship game.

Brady, in turn, retaliated during the roast, playfully reminding Manning that he would always be in his shadow, regardless of where he lived. The banter between the two legendary quarterbacks added a lighthearted touch to their competitive relationship, showcasing their camaraderie and mutual respect.
