A frontrunner for one of Ireland's cheapest petrol stations has unleaded listed closer to one euro per litre than two.
Last month, the AA revealed that fuel prices had dropped to their lowest since the start of the war in Ukraine, with petrol price across the state resting at €1.59, the lowest since September 2021, Buzz.ie reported.
Diesel fuel also dropped significantly since April, with the average at €1.51, 9% less than last month.

Cheapest petrol in Ireland
The Certa station in Claremorris, Mayo has taken the podium for the cheapest petrol in Ireland.
One litre of unleaded will cost motorists just €1.56, while diesel is priced at €1.42.
An image of these prices was shared online with many expressing that people should bolt to fill up before the price begins to rise again.
One person said: "I'd nearly drive down to fill up. Not sure id make it though as I'm running on fumes."
Petrol prices in Caseys, Roscommon
While these prices have been attractive to vehicle owners, it's still a little more expensive than Caseys in Roscommon.`
Prices for petrol sit at €1.54 while diesel will cost motorists just €1.39.
Casey's has been previously been hailed as having some of the cheapest fuel around.
Last month saw prices a little more expensive however, as petrol cost €1.56 while diesel could be bought at €1.46.
The spot has still maintained a reputation for having some of the best value fuel in Ireland.
Prices set to rise from next month
In recent weeks and months, the price of diesel has dropped significantly compared to its height in 2022.
“Motorists won’t be able to enjoy these prices for too long, however. We already know that unless prices fall again, then petrol will be back up to around €1.80 per litre and diesel to €1.76 per litre by the end of October. Which were the same as at the start of the Ukraine conflict,” said AA Ireland's Head of Communications, Paddy Comyn.
The reintroduction of duty will see rates restored on the 1st of June by 6 cents per litre of petrol and 5 cents per litre of diesel.
On September 1, these rates will increase by 7 cents for petrol and 5 cents for diesel. The Government will fully restore the rates on October 31, with a final increase of 8 cents for petrol and 6 cents for diesel.
