Jagged Edge Productions, known for their low-budget public domain horror films, is set to release their latest project, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. This dark take on the classic tale of Peter Pan promises to deliver a chilling twist on the beloved story.
Currently being filmed in the U.K., Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare features Martin Portlock as a sinister version of Peter Pan, with a plot that follows Wendy Darling as she tries to rescue her brother Michael from his clutches. The film also introduces a heroin-addicted Tinkerbell, adding a new layer of darkness to the narrative.
The cast includes a talented lineup of actors, with Scott Chambers handling both the screenplay and direction of the film. Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the mastermind behind the 'Poohniverse' concept, serves as a producer, promising an interconnected universe of horror films akin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Following the success of their previous film, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, Jagged Edge Productions is expanding their horror universe with upcoming projects like Bambi: The Reckoning and Pinocchio: Unstrung. These films will eventually converge in a crossover event titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.
While the first installment of the Poohniverse franchise garnered mixed reviews but performed well at the box office, its sequel failed to replicate the same success. Despite this, plans for future films and a potential 'Phase 2' of the franchise are already in the works.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is currently available on various VOD platforms, with Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare set to hit theaters this October, offering audiences a fresh and terrifying take on a beloved childhood story.
