Former Trump White House adviser Peter Navarro has been released from a Miami federal prison after completing a four-month sentence for defying a subpoena from the January 6 congressional committee. He is expected to swiftly travel to Milwaukee to attend the Republican National Convention.
According to a federal prison spokesperson, Navarro was released on Wednesday morning. It remains uncertain whether his speaking slot at the convention is scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday.
Navarro is one of two individuals from former President Donald Trump's inner circle who faced consequences for failing to comply with subpoenas issued by the now-defunct House Select Committee that probed the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection. The other individual, Trump adviser Steve Bannon, began serving his own four-month sentence earlier this month at a federal prison in Connecticut.
