Peter Kay is reportedly set to reveal plans for a huge comeback tour in 2023- six years after stepping away from the limelight due to personal reasons.
The comedian, 48, made a shock announcement on Twitter in 2017 that he was cancelling all upcoming work - including what would have been his first tour in eight years - due to 'unforeseen family circumstances'.
But Peter is said to be planning to perform across the UK next year and is raring to be back on stage again in what will his first tour since 2011.
A source told The Sun: "He has lined up huge venues across the country including in Manchester, London and Birmingham and is hoping to announce it in September."
"Peter has not performed a live stand-up set on a big stage in well over a decade now but he could not be more ready to get back out there."
Mirror Online has contacted Peter's representative for comment.
The comedy legend has hardly been in the public eye ever since, but did take part in two Q&A sessions to raise money at charity event 'Doing it for Laura' at Manchester Apollo last year and DJed at Dance For Life events in April.
On cancelling his previous tour he wrote: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.
"This unfortunately includes my upcoming standup tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.
"My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I’m sure you’ll understand my family must always come first."
The 100-gig Peter Kay Live Tour sold out before plans were shelved.
The star told fans he was doing "great" last month, meanwhile, as he made a rare public appearance near his beloved hometown in aid of a good cause.
The comedy legend was the guest of honour as he helped launch a new wheelchair-accessible 'wheelyboat' near Bolton - the comic's birth place.
Peter was able to crack a few jokes with delighted fans as he officially launched the boat that will offer disabled adults and children the opportunity to enjoy water-based sports and activities at The Anderton Centre for the first time.
