Peter Kay keeps tickets at £35 - the same cost as 2010 tour - amid cost of living crisis

Peter Kay is charging £35 per ticket for his long-awaited comeback tour amid the cost of living crisis.

The much-loved comedian, 49, will be embarking on a UK-wide arena tour next month, as he takes his brand-new stage show to a number of top venues. It will be the first time in 12 years that Peter has been on tour.

The new show was announced during the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! ad break of the first episode on Sunday night, with a hilarious clip of Peter carrying a roll of carpet and shouting at a man in a car.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, with the show kicking off in Manchester and then travelling to Birmingham, Liverpool, Belfast, Newcastle, Dublin, Glasgow, Cardiff and Nottingham.

Avid fans of Peter will be glad to learn that the comedian is keeping his ticket prices on the lower side amid the cost of living crisis.

Peter is charging his fans £35 for a ticket to see his long-awaited show - the same price as he charged for his last show over 12-years ago in 2010.

"It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now.

"And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010," Peter said in a statement on the Manchester AO website.

The good news about Peter's ticket prices comes after it was announced that he will be doing a monthly residence at the O2 as part of his huge comeback tour.

The comedian will make history as a comedian to do a monthly residency at the arena, with Zoe Ball making the announcement on her Breakfast show on Radio 2 today.

Peter will be performing at the venue each month for a year, with his first date being Friday 16th December and will go on to perform 21st January, 18th February, 22nd March and 22nd April.

The comic said: "I'm doing the O2 once a month, I'm doing a residency. There's only been me and Prince who have done it."

Peter has said he 'can't get his head around' the reaction after he announced a huge comeback tour at the weekend.

The comedian said he was blown over by the was response as he steps into the spotlight for the first time in five years.

He admitted he wanted to call the tour "Peter Who" due to his lengthy hiatus as he doubted fans would remember him after years out of the limelight.

"I cannot get my head round it. I thought we should call this tour Peter Who. I hadn't been around for five years. I thought I'd be on the news when I'm dead not when I'm going on tour," he said on the radio show.

"I could not get over it, I was lying in bed with Susan. I had a show on Sunday night. Huw Edwards was on the news talking about me. I was like this is ridiculous.

"I thought it's going to be a slow news day, hasn't it. I couldn't believe I was on the main news on telly."
