Peter Kay halts show after audience member becomes unwell

Peter Kay was forced to halt one of his shows after an audience member became unwell. He is currently on his sold-out comeback tour and is performing across some of the biggest arenas in the country, including at the Newcastle Arena on Thursday night.

It was there that his show was quickly brought to a halt after a fan sitting on the front row of the auditorium was became unwell and needed urgent medical attention, The Mirror reports.

Peter, 49, is believed to have instantly rushed off the stage in front of 11,000 people in the audience to try and help the audience member before a wheelchair was later brought out.

Speaking to The Sun, an audience member said: "Peter asked if they were being serious, then he asked for the big lights to go on and stewards ran over to see what was going on.

"He then went off stage for around 10/15 mins and one person was seen getting wheelchaired out."

Peter is believed to have returned to the stage after two more members of the audience took ill before saying "three went down then," and adding he "hoped they were ok."

Peter's tour which has seen him return to the stage for the first time in several years is set to continue through til August 2023 at Sheffield's Utilita Arena.
