Peter Kay fans were left feeling confused after seeing tickets on sale for higher than the £35 price the comedian promised for his new tour.
The comedy icon will visit the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Friday, January 6, and Saturday, January 7 2023 as as part of a huge UK tour that will visit cities like Sheffield, Birmingham and Leeds. He announced the highly anticipated news on Facebook to his 2.8m followers.
The post read: "It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now. And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010."

Despite the cost of living price promise, some Peter Kay fans were left feeling irritated after spotting what looked like a higher price. On the See Tickets website, tickets for his shows start at £41.55 instead of £35, but this is due to the inclusion of admin and booking fees.
The price of the tickets then increase further, depending on which type of seat you purchase. After £41.55, the seating then goes up to £58.05 and £74.55 which all include admin and booking fees through See Tickets.
The most expensive 'best seat package' costs £151 (originally £135 before fees). This 'best set package' includes a top price seat for the show, a limited edition Peter Kay gift, a Peter Kay show programme and a Peter Kay VIP laminate and lanyard.
Many fans were quick to share their thoughts on Facebook today. Replying to a Liverpool ECHO News post on Facebook, one person said: "Before anyone gets carried away, the £35 tickets are the cheapest and right at the back of the arena. Others are in the £50-100 price range. That’s getting little publicity."
A second comment read: "But when you look at the Liverpool arena they start from £41.50 plus fees." A third commented: "You might want to ask the M&S Arena why their tickets start at £45!!!"
Prices at the M&S Bank Arena actually start at £41.25, which includes 'admin and facility fee' and go all the way up to £151. A further £2.75 handling fee is then added on per order.
But many other Peter Kay fans shared their support for his cost of living promise and excitement at seeing him back on stage. One person said: "He could do it for free and I'm convinced people would find a reason to moan [laugh emoji] well played Peter Kay all your other costs will have soared since 2010." Another person added: "Brilliant and more garlic bread needed [laugh emoji]."
