Peter Kay announces Northern Ireland tour dates

It's the news we've all been waiting for - comedian Peter Kay has announced a new tour and he's coming to Northern Ireland.

The 49-year-old's return to public life was announced during the ad break for I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Kay said: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now.

"And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010”

The comedian hasn't toured in 12 years and cancelled his last 14 dates in 2017 due to unforeseen family circumstances.

At the time Kay said: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.

"This unfortunately includes my upcoming standup tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.

"My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand my family must always come first."

Kay, whose TV hits include Car Share and Phoenix Nights, tweeted the news of his return in his classic understated way.

The SSE Arena in Belfast announced it will host Kay saying the multi-Bafta winning stand-up will play the city on Thursday February 23, 2023, and Friday February 24, 2023.

All Virgin Media and O2 customers get free access to the Priority app which will give them 48-hour early access to get tickets before they go on general sale.

Tickets will go on sale this Saturday November 12 at 10am. For Belfast and Dublin, tickets will be available at www.ticketmaster.ie.
