Peter Kay has said that his mother expressed some concern over his recent comeback tour announcement.
The comedian, 49, announced the Better Late Than Never tour over the weekend, which will be the first time that he has performed a live stand-up tour since around 2010.
The news was revealed through a TV advert which aired during a commercial break in the launch of this year's I'm a Celebrity on Sunday night, that left viewers excited.
He however has said that his mother Deirdre Kay was a bit worried by the extent of the tour - which will see him visit 12 cities over the coming months, starting next month.
He spoke about her reaction whilst co-hosting The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 this morning. Peter said that she had called him after seeing the tour advert recently.
Peter said: "My mum rang on Sunday night after that advert went on and said 'how many nights are you doing?'" He said she had "counted the cities" and seemed surprised.
He shared that Deirdre said he had told her he was only doing two nights, to which he explained that was in reference to the first two shows being held in Manchester.
The performer stated that he told her that he was doing "more than 11 nights" on the tour, addressing the confusion. He said that Deidre wasn't keen on the schedule.
Peter said that his mother told him: "That's a lot of nights!" He said that his response was: "Well it's a tour". The comedian said she proceeded to ask about his travel plans.
The comedian - who lives in Bolton - said she asked how he would get home from Manchester. He recalled that she was shocked to hear he planned to drive himself home.

Peter also explained to radio host Zoe Ball, 51, that he was surprised that the tour announcement made the national news this week. He said that he "could not get over [it]".
He recalled lying in bed on Monday night and noticing a photo of himself on BBC News. The comedian teased that it must have been a "slow news days" for him to be featured.
"Huw Edwards was on the news with a picture of me behind him. He was doing the Queen's funeral and [now] he's talking about me [going on tour]," he explained on the show.
Peter was due to embark on a nationwide stand-up tour in 2017, but announced ahead of it that he was cancelling work projects due to "family circumstances".
Although he hasn't done a stand-up tour since, he has taken to the stage a handful of times in recent years - such as hosting Dance for Life events for charity.
His new tour will see him visit various cities in the UK. And he's set to make history with his monthly residency at the O2 Arena in London, performing at the venue each month for a year.
