Peter Kay adds extra dates to arena tour including another Newcastle show

Peter Kay has delighted fans by adding extra dates to his huge live stand-up tour - including another show at Newcastle's Utilita Arena.

The 49-year-old comedian announced the news on Sara Cox's BBC Radio 2 drivetime show on Thursday evening, saying that "people deserve a bit of joy". Ticket prices start at £35, with Peter saying that he'd "done them cheap" to be affordable to fans amid the cost of living crisis.

It comes after the star announced last month that he would be embarking on a mammoth UK tour - his first in 12 years, since his 2010 Guinness World Record-worthy tour which ranked as the biggest-selling comedy tour of all time. The original dates announced included two in Newcastle, on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 March 2023 - but if you didn't manage to get tickets the first time around, a third one has now been added just weeks away.

Peter has now added an extra date in Newcastle on Monday 30 January , as well as additional shows in the likes of Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, and London's O2 Arena. Tickets for the bonus gigs are set to go on sale this Sunday, 11 December, at 10am - you can find out where to snap them up here.

Sunday is likely to see a similar frenzy to the one that took place when the first batch of tickets went on sale last month, with online queues stretching into the thousands as fans made a mad dash to get their hands on a spot in the audience. Fans in the North East will no doubt be ecstatic by tonight's news after many called on the comedian to add more Newcastle dates.

Newcastle fans got a taste of what they can look forward to when Peter brings his tour to the city after rave reviews poured in for his return to the stage in Manchester earlier this week. According to the Manchester Evening News, the two-hour long show was full of surprises and saw Peter, 49, "in fine form" as he told hilarious anecdotes about some famous faces.
