Peter Grant bemused as Celtic take VAR gripe to the SFA with Parkhead chiefs asked 'what is the case?'

Former Celtic hero Peter Grant reckons his former side will be met with silence from the SFA with concerns set to be raised over the handling of VAR.

Record Sport revealed that Parkhead chiefs are looking for talks with Hampden higher-ups for for clarification regarding the ongoing issues surrounding the video assistant referee process. Celtic are unhappy at a number of calls since the set up was brought in before the World Cup. The incident involving Connor Goldson, where John Beaton was not sent to the monitor by VAR Willie Collum to review a handball claim, has been the main talking point coming out of the derby showdown with Rangers.

The Hoops have also been left unhappy with VAR calls that went against them in clashes against Hearts, Ross County and Dundee United. But Grant reckons every club could have a moan at the SFA over the decisions so far this season as he joined Rangers hero Barry Ferguson in The Go Radio Football Show.

Asked about Celtic looking to hold talks with those behind the scenes at Hampden, Grant responded: "What is the case? What is it going to do? Barry (Ferguson) will say Rangers have had decisions against them, and I have said for years Celtic have had it against them. We have all said it, my grandfather use to say it!

"We only talk about it because it's Celtic and Rangers, but what are you going to get? You are going to get silence."

Ferguson chimed in: "I have heard words said that the game is corrupt up here. That is nonsense, for me. The game up here ain't corrupt."

Grant continued: "It's just a lack of quality at times. Some blatant decisions there is no excuse for whatsoever, and now they have got the help (with VAR). That was (brought in) to tell you there are no mistakes, I think it's worse.

"I seen it in England, and I just thought it would be catastrophic up here. So far, so good."
