Former Liverpool player Peter Crouch has opened up on his new career move that is "a lot of fun".
The 41-year-old is stepping in for Mo Gilligan as ITV's The Masked Dancer returns to our screens next month. And, despite his extensive footballing career, the former striker said his four children are more interested in the ITV show, OK! reports.
Twelve brand new celebrities will be stepping onto the dancefloor to take on character alter egos as they trip the light fantastic in a bid to wow the panel and confuse with their moves. Host Joel Dommett said the show will be: "Bigger and better than ever really."

Last series viewers saw Olympic gymnast Louis Smith storm to victory dressed as the wonderfully outlandish Car Wash. The series also saw Radio DJ and presenter Zoe Ball unmasked as Llama, choreographer and TV judge Craig Revel Horwood as Knickerbocker Glory, Ice skating legend Christopher Dean as Beagle and presenter Kelly Brook as Frog.
Ahead of the first episode of The Masked Dancer, Peter Crouch said: "It’s madness. Completely different to anything that I’ve ever done before. My kids love the show.
"I played football for England and Liverpool, I played in cup finals, played in the Premier League and played in world cups, but my kids, the only thing they want to talk to me about is The Masked Dancer. They absolutely love it. They came and watched one of the shows and absolutely loved it and it’s all they’ve talked about since."
Peter went on to say that The Masked Dancer has been "loads of fun" and his children are "so proud of me." Peter will be joining Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Oti Mabuse for the show, which sees celebrities don masks and and costumes and dance before their true identities are guessed.
He added: "I’m the new boy, but I’ve moved clubs so many times in football I’m quite used to that anyway. Everyone’s just been so friendly. Jonathan and Davina, they have both been in this world for so long and are absolute legends at what they do. Oti’s been lovely, she’s the proper dance critic.
"And Joel’s fantastic at what he does. He always brings a smile to everyone’s face. I’ve really got on well with the group and it’s been fun."
The new series of The Masked Dancer starts on Saturday, September 3, at 6.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
