Peter Andre tells Junior to be 'bigger' than he was at 16 as he prepares to drop music

Peter Andre has encouraged his son Junior to be 'bigger' than he was, as the teenager embarks on a career in the music industry.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker, 49, is very much a proud (and nervous) dad as he has watched the 16-year-old sign a deal with Columbia Records - meaning his career is about to kick off.

Although he's excited for Junior, Pete has shared his concerns about his son starting a career within showbiz.

Speaking about the huge achievement with Heat! magazine, Pete said: "I did so much of what I wanted to do, and now I've said to him, 'Think of what I did, and go for much bigger. Go for it'."

Pete opened up about his life at 16, when he was a heartthrob.

He said he toured with Madonna and did big arenas, as well as bagging himself a slew of awards.

In recent weeks, Junior appeared to share his phone number with strangers on the internet.

Junior shared his digits on Instagram and even asked his fans to message him on WhatsApp.

He posted a snap of himself, writing: "Slide into my WhatsApp," before adding his number.

He added: "I've got some stuff I've been working on that I wanna send you."

Fans could not contain their excitement as they commented on the post.

"Bro, that's sick. Hit me up with what you've been working on. Buzzing to hear it!" one person wrote.

Another penned: "You are so dreamy! When is the album coming out? Really looking forward to it!"

Junior recently revealed he is pursuing a career in music - and dad Peter revealed he is 'managing' his son.

Peter made the revelation on Lorraine, where he discussed his eldest child - who he shares with ex-wife Katie Price - and spoke highly of the budding musician, as he shared his pride over Junior following in his musical footsteps.

He told stand-in host Christine Lampard that he was "proud but also scared" for his son.

“I took him to the studio and he got in the booth and everyone was like ‘oh!’ And I said ‘look, let's focus on him for right now’,” Peter explained.

The star, who is also dad to Princess, 14, and Amelia, 8, and Theo, 5, said he is trying to give Junior his “freedom”, but wants to make sure he’s on the right path.

Peter is sharing his extensive knowledge of the music industry with Junior, and will be working as his manager to show him he has his full support.

“I am managing him in the sense I am there with him all the way. We want to give him some artistic freedom,” he revealed.
