Peter Andre sparks divide as he defends getting son £25k Audi for his 17th birthday

Peter Andre has got his followers talking as he revealed the incredible gift he got son Junior for his 17th birthday. The teen, whom Peter shares with ex-wife Katie Price, was celebrating his special day on Monday, June 13.

And the aspiring musician, who is due to release his debut single Slide on Friday, was gifted his dream car from his dad. Junior was pictured on Instagram posing next to his black Audi which had been complete with a personalised license plate.

He captioned the post: "Couldn't be more grateful right now. I'm releasing my debut single 'SLIDE' this Friday 17th June and my dad just got me the car of my dreams." Proud dad Peter also shared a look at his son getting to grips with his new flashy motor.

The birthday boy could be sat in the driver's seat of his first car while sister Princess, 14, sat next to him in the front passenger seat as they blasted music from inside. "I think he’s loving his new car," Peter, 49, started the caption alongside his post to his 1.8m followers. "Happy birthday son. Now you just have to pass your test," he added.

And fans were quick to share their birthday wishes with Junior as well as sharing their amazement at his mega gift. @missmamiidoll commented: "Well there’s defo no better initiative to pass your test than a sick car like that! Happy birthday Junior." @chloecbell wrote: "Awww such a lovely gift Pete, what a lovely dad you are! Happy Birthday Junior!"

But @alijg2 argued: "How dangerous buying a high powered car for a new driver!" to which Peter personally replied: "I’ve set rules . He did amazing with his bike. He needs a lot of lessons. He will be great. He knows the rules."

That didn't stop it causing a divide as more had their say. @lisaearith wrote: "@peterandre my daughter had one as her first car, they are nippy but he’s a sensible boy we have to put trust in them don’t we, happy driving @officialjunior_andre." @scoob81oxo commented: "It isn't the high powered car that makes its dangerous it's the driver! He comes across as a sensible kids and @peterandre is a sensible dad! It's a fantastic gift."

Earlier Peter paid tribute to his eldest son. The dad of four, who also shares Amelia and Theo with wife Emily, shared a picture of Junior during a performance and said: "You are kind, you are humble, you are generous. You work hard and you study hard. You’re a great brother and a great person.

"But the best part of all of this for me is that you are a great son. You are my son. And I’m proud in every way. HAPPY 17th Birthday @officialjunior_andre."
