Peter Andre makes savage dig at married stars falling to Strictly Curse as his survived

Peter Andre has addressed the crippling impact the Strictly Come Dancing Curse has on marriages and made a savage dig at who he reckons is to blame.

The singer, 49, put the onus firmly at the door of the celebs and pro partners as he rubbished the idea of an actual curse.

The dad-of-four told how he’s been reminiscing since this year’s all-star Strictly line-up was announced.

He told how he has “fond memories” of his time on the show as he “loved” being on the show and learning a new skill, but also felt it was his “toughest challenge” ever and was “exhausted” by the end.

But Peter insisted the steamy dancing sessions were never part of the challenge because he “respects” his wife.

He wrote in his OK! column : “One thing that I’m sure will pop up again this year is the so call Strictly curse.

“I’ve always said that if you’re going to do something you’re going to do it, I don’t believe there’s a curse at all.”

He then made a savage dig at those who engage in infidelity behind the scenes on the show, saying: “I remember being asked about it when I was on the show and I remember saying that when both people respect each other and their partners it doesn’t happen.”

Pete and his wife Emily have remained really good friends with his dance partner Janette Manrara and her hubby Aljaž Škorjanec seven years on from his own Strictly stint.

The ITV Saturday night show, which has been on screens since 2004, has borne what is called the ‘Strictly Curse’ which stars say is to blame for the show’s fair share of controversies in the past 22 years - from accusations it is fixed to scandalous relationships blossoming from the competition.

The ‘curse’ refers to the trend of celebrities and professional dancers drastically upheaving their personal lives after or during the show.

It seems the show causes rifts to explode in off-screen relationships causing them to break up, and for new ones to grow between dancer and celebrity.

The intense schedules, passionate dances and physical closeness can affect off-screen relationships and encourage new ones, the numbers seem to show.
