Peter Andre left 'petrified' after incident with Japanese mafia boss in bar

Peter Andre has confessed to being left “petrified” after a clash with a Japanese mafia boss in his musical heyday.

The singer-turned-TV personality has been telling of his favourite, and less fond, travelling memories – including once sharing a naked sauna with the Backstreet Boys in Germany.

But one of his most vivid traveling experiences left Peter, 50, terrified.

The father-of-four, who has just hit the big birthday milestone recently, recalled how he was living in Japan at the time and was in a bar in Tokyo when tensions started to rise.

He was living in the country for a few months and remembers the “dangerous situation” as being “a little close for comfort”.

He recalled: "On this particular night, this man just started yelling at me really aggressively and it turned out he was a member of the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza.

"I had no idea what he was saying but apparently it was a demonstration of his authority."

The Aussie singer told The Sunday Times : "I was petrified but fortunately the situation didn't escalate."

The Mysterious Girl singer told the publication how much of his globe-trotting in his youth was dictated by his touring schedule, after he was signed to a record label at 16.

He was lucky enough to travel all over Europe and America and even spent time in Malaysia and Indonesia.

While touring Europe with the Backstreet Boys, Peter recalled heading to a sauna and steam room in Germany with the band one night after a show.

But what should have been a relaxing visit quickly took a turn when they realised everyone else in the sauna was butt naked.

Peter recalled: "We all just looked at each other giggling."

Peter turned 50 in February and enjoyed time in Dubai to celebrate the milestone birthday.

He regularly visits the UAE with his family but got to enjoy some alone time with wife Emily before being joined his kids Junior and Princess, whom he shares with Katie Price, and Amelia and Theodore, who he has with Emily.
