Peter Andre feels 'every inch of pain' as Michael Owen watches daughter on Love Island

Peter Andre says he feels 'every inch of pain' as Michael Owen watches his eldest daughter on Love Island.

Gemma Owen, 19, has become one of the favourites to win the ITV2 dating show since making her debut in the villa last week, but the former footballer has already admitted it’s his worst nightmare watching her look for love on TV.

Doting dad Peter, who has four children of his own, including teenage daughter Princess, 14, took to his OK! column to sympathise with the ex-England star, and said he couldn’t imagine watching his own child on the show.

“I have to say I feel every inch of pain Michael Owen must be going through seeing his daughter Gemma on Love Island,” he wrote.

“Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great show but it’s not exactly ideal as a dad, is it? No wonder he said he’d flown to Germany for football commentating to avoid it,” Peter added, referencing Michael’s stint commentating on the recent England match in Germany, just as his daughter made her Love Island debut.

Peter, who is also dad to Junior, 17, who he shares with ex-wife Katie Price, said he’s happy for his eldest children to go into showbiz, but has laid down the ground rules over what they can and cannot do - and that includes appearing as a contestant on Love Island.

“As I’ve told Princess many times, I’m happy for her or Junior to present the show, so hopefully they both take heed of that,” he explained.

Peter said that Junior wasn’t an avid viewer of the dating show, but he was aware that Princess might have been watching it with his wife, Emily.

“Last week, Junior was rehearsing for his single launch that’s out this week, so I missed the first few episodes being with him and I don’t know if Princess has been watching it with Emily,” Peter added.

Budding musician Junior has had a helping hand from dad Pete as he launches his career, while Princess has been racking up thousands of views as she shares her make-up tutorials on her YouTube channel.
