Peter Andre fans go wild as he shares throwback photo from teen idol days

Peter Andre has shared a throwback picture of his days as a smouldering teen idol, with fans rushing to shower him with praise.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 49, who recently marked 30 years in showbusiness, shared a photo on Instagram of him looking fresh faced and rocking a floppy, nineties hairstyle, with a black headband to keep his black gelled locks out of his face.

Wearing one gold earring and a black jacket, the singer stares confidently into the camera.

Posting the picture, the dad-of-four wrote in the caption: "Not sure how to explain this one," then writing: "#throwbackeventhoughitsfriday".

Fans were quick to assure the former I'm a Celeb contestant that he looked great back then, with one person writing: "I dunno but it worked."

Another wrote: "Loved him then... It's the bloody gelled curtains."

One person quipped: "Young... but have aged well."

A fourth person wrote: "Looking lovely as always."

Many shared that they fancied Pete when they were younger, with one fan writing: "Total crush back in the day."

No wonder Pete is reminiscing about the past, as earlier this week he appeared on This Morning, and marked three decades in the entertainment industry.

During the chat with presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle, he discussed his plans to create a special show for fans to mark the upcoming anniversary, which he vowed would be a very special show that has never been done before – more than A Night With... or a regular concert.

However, as the segment came to the end, he was surprised to be gifted a very special cake by the team on the ITV show, which was a replica of him in his Mysterious Girl music video, complete with sculpted abs made of icing.

Josie said: "So we thought we'd give you a little treat with your own cake."

"That's fantastic," Peter said, noting the attention to detail, "That's amazing, look at those abs!"

Asked if he thought it was uncanny, Peter replied: "I'm pretty shocked at how good that is. It's better than me, so I'm happy about that. My abs are there but they're hibernating there nowadays."

The TV appearance came after Peter praised his kids for bringing out the youth in him, as he shared plans to release more music.

"It is amazing, when I think about it – you only realise when time flies when you realise the age of your kids. When Junior turned 17, I thought, I used to look at people who say I've got a 17 or 18 year old and I'm like what?" he said recently.

"And now it's happening to me. But the last few years, I feel the kids have brought the youthfulness out in me rather than make me feel old. It's given me more of a drive."

He has also promised fans a brand new album in 2023 after years of waiting.
