Pete Price forced to confirm 'I'm not dead' as he's flooded with messages

Pete Price cleared up rumours suggesting he was dead just hours after he appeared "alive and well" on TV.

The radio host, from West Kirby, said he received a dozen messages in the space of an hour on Saturday night after the rumours spread. Pete, 77, took to Instagram to set the record straight as he shared one of the messages he received from a friend who was in disbelief at the misinformation, which appeared to have come from a caller to Alan Beswick's late-night phone-in show on Radio Manchester.

The message read: "Cannot believe what I heard on Alan Beswick show tonight. A lady just announced she was sad you passed away. Allen said this cannot be confirmed, think he didn't know what to say but he did talk about you for a few moments.

"Trevor just called in to say this is most likely untrue as you looked very good on GB News today and I agree with him."

Pete captioned the post: "This is the twelfth message I've had in the last hour. I assure you I'm not dead. God knows how this story started.

"I was on telly this morning alive and well."

Over a dozen people replied to the post to say they were glad to hear the radio host was "very much alive."

Sue Kellie said: "I heard the same on Alan Beswick show, so glad you're OK."

Collette Collinge said: "We, like you, are delighted to know that you're very much alive. You're going nowhere hopefully for a very long time. Lots of love and so glad we can hug you still and laugh together our dear friend."

Florence Moss said: "You're not going anywhere yet hun."
