Pete Doherty has been forced to cancel his upcoming gigs, after falling ill with a high fever and shortness of breath.
The Libertines singer, 42, received 'immediate treatment' from medics, after the star tested negative for Covid-19 and that diagnosis was ruled out.
A statement released on behalf of the indie icon revealed that the singer has been diagnosed with a respiratory infection and he remains under 'close observation' from a doctor.
Due to Pete's health battle, a string of his U.K shows and gigs have been cancelled, as the Can't Stand Me Now singer is not able to perform 'under any circumstance'.
Posted to recently-married star's 137,000 Instagram followers on Thursday, the statement read: "A doctor has been called to assess Peter's condition tonight after he developed a high fever and shortness of breath.
"Thankfully, he has tested negative for COVID-19, but has been diagnosed with a respiratory infection which requires immediate treatment.
"Unfortunately, he [Pete] has been advised not to perform tonight under any circumstances, which was not a decision taken lightly, and he remained under close observation with the doctor.
"Further updates tomorrow afternoon with regard to the weekends show.

Pete recently teamed up with French musician Frédéric Lo on the album, The Fantasy Life Of Poetry & Crime, which is due for release on March 18.
Their accompanying UK and European tour is due to start in Paris on May 5 and end in Cambridge on May 20.
The star's health woes come just months after he tied the knot for the first time.
Taking to Instagram in October last year, the Time for Heroes singer shared a series of snaps from his idyllic wedding to Katia de Vidas on September 30 2021.
The happy couple became husband and wife at the Domaine Saint Clair hotel in the French city of Etretat - close by where pair have resided for the last three years.
Their nuptials came just 48 hours after Pete's publicist confirmed that the star and the keyboardist were planning to wed.
Music was provided by The Libertines and the couple's band, Puta Madres, and it's been reported that Pete's once estranged father and mother where in attendance for their son's wedding.
According to MailOnline, Peter John Doherty, a former Major in the Royal Signals, joined his son on stage for a rendition of one of his biggest hits with The Libertines, What A Waster.
