Bobby Wagner has been cut and Quandre Diggs has been re-signed, so the Seahawks have only one major contract negotiation left this year – barring a big free agent signing. It’ll also be likely the most expensive for a non-quarterback in franchise history.
Wide receiver D.K. Metcalf is entering the final year of his rookie contract and re-signing him to a long-term extension should be at or very-near the top of the team’s to-do list once they finish building their 2022 roster. Yesterday, coach Pete Carroll told KJR radio that the team will try hard to re-sign Metcalf before the 2022 season begins.

The highest-paid wide receiver in the league right now is Davante Adams, who was recently traded from the Packers to the Raiders, who gave him a deal averaging over $28 million per season.
Metcalf won’t get that much, but fans should expect his contract to average somewhere between $20-$25 million a year.
