The Seattle Seahawks have been trying to find a real WR3 to complete the picture with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf for about four years now. Their latest attempt to find a solution is Dee Eskridge, who they picked in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft.
Unfortunately, Eskridge hasn’t been able to live up to his potential as of yet. Injuries have been a massive problem for the former Western Michigan wideout. So far Eskridge has missed 13 games in two seasons in addition to huge portions of the team’s offseason program in his rookie year. When he’s been on the field, Eskridge has looked out of sync with his teammates.
Heading into his third year in the league, Eskridge has managed just 17 catches, 122 yards and one touchdown.
Yesterday coach Pete Carroll told the media during his pre-draft press conference that Eskridge has some work to do going into Year 3.
Pete Carroll says Dee Eskridge is in the best shape of his life.

There’s still a chance for Eskridge to turn things around, but it’s not going to get any easier for him this year. The Seahawks are expected to use at least one of their 10 picks on a wide receiver prospect in next week’s draft and they tend to do so on Day 2.
If Eskridge doesn’t show significant improvement during this coming season it’s extremely unlikely he will get to sign a second contract.
