The Seattle Seahawks have lost a longtime staffer, and former head coach Pete Carroll is the reason why. On Friday morning, it was reported by NFL insider Albert Breer that Carroll was hiring away Seahawks Vice President of coaching operations Matt Capurro. These two men go back several years, so it is entirely understandable why Capurro would want to reuinite with his former friend and colleague.
Seahawks VP of coaching operations Matt Capurro is leaving the team after 15 years to reunite with Pete Carroll and rejoin the Raiders. Was with Carroll at USC in 2009 and in Seattle from ’10-23, and worked for Al Davis in Oakland from ’04-08.
Valuable right-hand man to the HC.

Capurro’s experience around football is evident, and in a way it is fitting he is “returning” to the Raiders, although they are in Sin City this time. From Seahawks insiders, this is a bittersweet moment for the franchise.
Happy for Matt but also sad to see him go. Matt is one of those quintessential makes-things-happen-behind-scenes guys. Has been a vital part of football operations for years with no fanfare. https://t.co/FFtujgQsvX

We at Seahawks Wire wish Capurro and Carroll all the best in Vegas, except of course, when they face their former team.
