A pet cat has had two bullets removed after it was shot with an air gun. The 10-year-old cat called Beauty was shot in the chest and abdomen.
Surprisingly, Beauty made a full recovery after undergoing a procedure at the vets to remove the two pellets after being shot in November. However despite police and the RSPCA being informed, the culprit is yet to be found.
According to the RSPCA, the incident took place around November 21 in the Lewis Terrace area of Porth, Rhondda. They believe it may have happened in the nearby allotments where Beauty the cat likes to visit.

RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: “This is a very upsetting incident and unfortunately we have not got far with our enquiries.
“We don’t know exactly where or when this happened and if this was a deliberate attack, so we are appealing for information to try and find out what happened. Although the fact that he was shot twice is of course very suspicious.
“If anyone has any information, they are urged to call the RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018, which is in confidence.” You can read more stories from the Rhondda here.
Cats and wildlife are often the target of air rifle attacks, simply because they are out in the open with no one to protect them. The injuries caused by such attacks are horrific and often fatal. These attacks are often deliberate by people who just don’t care about hurting animals or are deliberately targeting animals to keep them away from gardens.
The RSPCA is calling for tighter controls with better education and explanation of the law when buying an air gun and that everyone must receive basic safety training before being allowed to walk out of the shop.
