Perthshire schoolboy reported missing after vanishing from home overnight is found safe and well

Tayside Police launched a desperate appeal to trace a schoolboy who vanished from his Perthshire home overnight earlier this week.

Scott Farquhar (15) was last seen at home in Almondbank at around 11.15pm on Tuesday, October 18.

He has now been found "safe and well".

Officers had grown increasingly concerned for the teen’s welfare and said that it is out of character for him to have left his home without notifying anyone.

Authorities believed he may not have travelled far, as the schoolboy didn’t have his phone or money with him.

Police Scotland urged anyone who might have spotted Scott, or knows where he has gone, to contact them.

Inspector Garry Miller said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen Scott or knows of his whereabouts to get in touch.

“It is really out of character for him to not let anybody know where he is going.

“He doesn’t have any money or phone with him so we do not think he will have travelled far.

“We urge anyone with any information get in touch with us.

“If Scott sees or hears about this appeal then please let us know you are okay.”

However, thankfully Scott has been found.

A police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Scott Farquhar (15) reported missing from Almondbank, Perthshire, has been traced safe and well.

“Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal.”
