The Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus has been teed up for an accolade in the 10th Scottish Golf Tourism Awards.
The hotel, which enjoys close links with a number of leading golf courses in the area - including Rosemount, Lansdowne, Alyth and Strathmore - is in the running in the Best Golf Hotel (20 rooms and under) category.
The establishment has enjoyed success in these prestigious awards before, winning the title in 2016, and being nominated last year in 2021.
The King’s Course at Gleneagles has been shortlisted for Best Course over £150, while the Gleneagles Hotel is up for Best Hotel over 50 rooms.
Strathmore Golf Centre is in the running for Best Course under £75 and St Fillans for Best 9-hole Course.
The Scottish Golf Tourism Awards exists to celebrate the very best of the Scottish Golf Tourism Industry, from clubs to courses to accommodation providers.
The only hotel in the Perthshire area to be nominated in the 20 rooms and under category, The Red House Hotel is this year up against The Bonnie Badger in East Lothian, The Crusoe Hotel in Lower Largo, plus Old Loans Inn in Troon. Staff and management are now looking forward to the awards ceremony on February 2 at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews.
For the first time in SGTA history, a panel of independent judges from across the industry have been recruited, each chosen for their expertise and insight to select the deserving winners.
“We are delighted to have been nominated in these fantastic golf awards again,” said Alan Bannerman, owner of the Red House Hotel. “It’s an honour to put Perthshire on the map as a wonderful golfing location in Scotland.
“We’re really looking forward to the awards ceremony which will be a great night out for my hard working team who really go the extra mile to look after all the golfers that stay with us on a regular basis.
“It’s also fantastic to see the event back to its full glory following the pandemic.
“As ever with any awards schemes which call for customer votes, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of those who took the time to vote for us, we really appreciate it and simply could not achieve this level of recognition without you.
“Even if we don’t win we will have the best time with the event proving to be a valuable networking opportunity too.
“If we do though, it will give us all a huge boost as we continue to navigate our way through the energy crisis and other issues still affecting the hospitality sector.”
Alan finished by saying that the hotel was very fortunate to have so many top quality golf courses in the area.
