A retired NHS worker was one of two people in Errol celebrating at the weekend after scooping a share of £60,000 with the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Morag Beveridge (62) landed a cheque for £30,000 when her Perthshire postcode PH2 7ST was announced as a winner with the lottery on Saturday, May 28.
Morag, who was a senior nurse for NHS Fife for 32 years, said she couldn’t believe it when she received her cheque from People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.
“It’s so surreal. I still can’t believe it’s happened,” she said.
“I’m still pinching myself that Danyl’s come here and handed me a cheque.”
Joining Morag as she found out how much she’d won was her husband of 42 years, Andrew.
Andrew, who was a fire service watch manager for 32 years, said: “It’s just mind -blowing.”
Asked how they intended to treat themselves, Andrew said: “A nice time away in the caravan would be great, where we don’t have to worry about anything.
“We can go where we want, eat what we want, drink what we want and do what we want when we want.”
Morag added: “When we moved up here we had this big field and wondered what we could do with it. So, we decided to build a campsite.
“We’ve caravanned all our married life and we’ve used these types of sites, so we knew people used them. So that’s what we did, and we built it all ourselves.”
The couple treated themselves to an Indian takeaway at the weekend to celebrate their win.
The remaining winner from Errol chose to remain anonymous.
Danyl said: “I’m thrilled for our winners in Errol, a big congratulations to them! I’m sure they’ll celebrate and I hope they enjoy spending their winnings.”
