Perth's Mela Festival is a joyful carnival by the Tay

The multicultural Mela Festival returned to Perth on Saturday, June 10 for a sweltering free entertainment afternoon of music and dance.

The Mela Festival kicked off at 12pm with a vibrant parade starting from Thimblerow, heading along the High Street and Tay Street, culminating at the North Inch.

Several thousand people enjoyed a dazzling display of colour and sound, with many cultural communities that have made Perth and Kinross home providing an incredible showcase for the Fair City.

At the Inch, street food vendors offered a taste of India, Greece and more with market and craft stalls as well.
