Perth's Chloe Grant steers to best ever GB4 Championship finish on memorable weekend at Brands Hatch

Chloe Grant revved to a best ever GB4 Championship finish at happy hunting ground Brands Hatch.

The Perth racer is reflecting on a memorable weekend performance and picking up plenty of points at the renowned Kent circuit.

Racing for the Graham Brunton and Laser Tools Racing team in the championship this season, Chloe opened with a seventh-placed finish which fuelled confidence for race two.

It was there where the Fair City teenager would navigate through the field to impressively cross the finish line in fourth place and with a huge smile on her face.

Only Nikolas Taylor, Jarrod Waberski and Jack Sherwood completed the course quicker to edge the lucrative podium spots.

Chloe steered herself to another strong finish in the third and final race of the weekend, earning fifth spot.

“I said at the beginning of the week Brands Hatch has always been good to me and it has prevailed again,” Chloe said.

“After mechanical issues throughout both test days our race results felt even more amazing. We made up one place in the first race with mixed conditions from P8 to P7.

“Race two was a great one, making my way through with some good passes I secured my best finish yet in P4 from P8. Being the fourth fastest on track, the results really reflect the grid pace - so much fun.

“In race three I was off pole on reverse grid and fought hard to keep it there, but ultimately the quicker cars got through and we finished P5 which, again, is still up there with our best result.”

Chloe, who enjoyed a terrific karting career, has this season made the step up in machine and is relishing the chance to test herself in the inaugural GB4 Championship.

The championship has one final round to run and that will take place at Donington Park across the weekend of October 15 and 16.

There, Chloe will again be supported by a dedicated team who she always makes sure to turn the spotlight on and thank for their assistance.

“As always, thank you to those who make this possible,” she said. “Laser Tools Racing, John Clark Motor Group, Workflo Solutions, the BWRDC and, of course, my family.

“This weekend was extra special as my sister Katie came to support trackside for the first time this year, and friends from the JSCC paddock were able to come along too.

“We have four weeks now until the final round of the GB4 Championship at Donington Park, but the work gets harder as training continues and week one of college begins.”
