A teacher has faced court after being charged by police with indecently recording female students at a Catholic college in Perth's north-east.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad allege the 41-year-old Scarborough man filmed the students in his class last month.

He has been charged with four counts of indecently recording a child over the age of 16 under his authority.

The man made a brief appearance in the Midland Magistrates Court this morning, when his bail was renewed.

He is due to appear in court again in four weeks.

A WA Police spokesperson said the investigation into the man's alleged activities was ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
