A personal trainer has revealed himself as the man behind a parody Twitter account with tens of thousands of followers that brutally mocks the Tories.
Henry Morris, who lives in Wales, said he set up the Secret Tory - which has nearly 200,000 followers - when he was bored in the gym.
The success of his satirical account led to him publishing a book last year, and there's been speculation that it could have been the work of a disenchanted MP.
Mr Morris, from Wales, said he has "loved the wind up" after impersonating a Conservative insider.
He told the BBC: "If people are feeling cheated I'm not a real MP, I'd like to say I'm sorry, but I'm not.
"It's got a lot more to do with the behaviour of the people sitting in Westminster, than my skills as a con artist."
The internet funnyman - who originally set up his Twitter page to mock Tory Mark Francois following the Brexit vote in 2016 - posted that he was revealing himself because the Conservative brand had become "toxic".
Mr Francois, chairman of the right-wing European Research Group (ERG) said in 2020 he found the parody “actually quite funny”.
Mr Morris' book The Diary of a Secret Tory MP: (Almost!) True Stories from the Heart of British Politics won rave reviews.
The Yorkshire-born marathon runner has taken aim at the Government over water pollution, Brexit and sleaze.
He said: "Other people discover they're good at things like ballet or darts. Turns out I'm very good at pretending to be a Tory MP."
Before revealing his identity he posted: "I'm going to stand down as an MP and tell you who I am.
"The Tory brand is starting to get a bit toxic and I'd love to eat kangaroo b******s on I'm a Celeb one day."
Mr Morris quipped it was time to reveal himself as he is "sure an AI will be able to do all this in a few weeks".
A video posted on his page joked that he was wanted for "distracting the Tory government from concentrating on national self-impoverishment".
