Persona 5: The Phantom X is a mobile game spinoff of the franchise that was originally released by developer Atlus for iOS and Android devices in April and will be getting console versions in the future.

Persona 5 X producer Lao V, Japanese producer Yosuke Uda, and Atlus character designer Shigenori Soejima spoke at an event in Shanghai to talk about the game.

They told attendees that they would soon begin working on console versions of the mobile title. This will be after they have released it internationally.

Persona 5 Spinoff

It was also discussed that there are plans for upcoming collaborations for the mobile game where they noted that there will be quite a lot of them.

These include the Persona 5 pyramid and space station chapters being made available after the summer events, according to MyNintendoNews.

Also, there are long-term plans for more Persona series collaborations as right now, there are talks with Persona 5 Royal, Persona 3 Reload, and Persona 5 Golden.

Atlus also said that it has decided on the outline of the ending of the mobile game, which is being refined and developed.

The news of the mobile game's future comes as Persona 5: The Phantom X is currently available in open beta in China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, and Taiwan. For now, it is still unclear how far its international release will reach.

Sega also confirmed in May 2024 that a wider release of the mobile game was under consideration, which came a month after Persona 5: The Phantom X got its open beta.

It suggested that the companies responsible for the game were confident that fans wanted more, said The Gamer.

Planned International Release

The Persona 5 spinoff has gained substantial acclaim since it was first released in April and Sega is looking to take advantage of the hype. The mobile game follows the story of Wonder, a young high school student.

The protagonist is then drawn into the metaverse following a fateful encounter with Ruferu, a talking owl. Other than Persona 5: The Phantom X shares the same setting as the mainline universe, the mobile game has its own unique features.

These include new mini-games, an original storyline, as well as a gacha pull system, similar to what players see in titles like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero.

What sets it apart is its exclusivity to select regions in Asia and that it can only be played on PC and mobile devices, according to GameRant.
