Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run. The pedestrian was taken to hospital after being knocked down in Middleton on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to the scene on at the junction of Spring Vale and Oldham Road - opposite the Hare and Hounds pub at about 10.45pm.

The victim's injuries are described as serious, but not believed to be life-threatening. Photos from the scene show police tape stretched across the road.
A police car has also been parked across the carriageway. A witness said: "There are several police vehicles at the scene, those being from divisional, traffic and the serious collision investigation unit."
Oldham Road remained closed until about 5am on Saturday. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the incident to get in touch.
