Emergency crews rushed to a "casualty" to save a person who had fallen into the River Aire in the early hours of this morning (Mon).
Rescue teams attended the river near Bridge End at 2am today (May 1), with crews from Leeds, Hunslet and Rothwell Fire Stations in attendance. Thankfully, the person was saved and has since been put in the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service issued the following update on the incident, it said: "One casualty in the River Aire near to Bridge End, Leeds. Water rescue teams rescued casualty and now in care of Yorkshire Ambulance."
