Person hit by train on Scots railway as emergency services rush to the scene

A person has been hit by a train as emergency services rush to the scene.

The incident occurred between Dingwall and Inverness and lines between the locations currently remain closed.

Services on the Kyle and Far North lines will also be delayed as a result of the individual being struck.

ScotRail confirmed the news on their Twitter account at 6.41pm on Wednesday, February 2.

A spokesperson for the train operator said: "I'm afraid that a person has been struck by a train between Dingwall and Inverness.

"The line is closed while the emergency services attend, this means services on the Kyle and Far North lines will be delayed."

The British Transport Police (BTP) have been contacted for comment.
