A PERSON was hit by a train on a busy Glasgow railway line on Monday evening.
National Rail said a person was struck by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street in Renfrewshire and Kilwinning in Ayrshire shortly before 6pm.
ScotRail said all lines in the area were closed during the incident while emergency crews dealt with it.
The condition of the person involved in the incident is currently unknown. However, the railway line reopened shortly after 9pm.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: "Trains have returned to normal following a person hit by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning."
