A person was hit by a train between Liverpool and Warrington.
National Rail first reported disruption on the line between Liverpool South Parkway and Warrington Central at 6.36pm on Tuesday, November 22. East Midlands Railway confirmed around 20 minutes later a person was hit by a train on the line.
The condition of the person has not yet been confirmed. National Rail, British Transport Police and the North West Ambulance Service are all at the scene.

A spokesperson from East Midland Railway said: "Sadly, as person has been hit by a train between Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway. The emergency service and Network Rail are now in attendance at the incident.
"Trains running through the area in both direction cannot run between Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway. Were possible, trains will take a diversionary route to and from Liverpool Lime Street. This may add up to 20 minutes onto your journey time.
"At present, we do not know when the line will reopen. Once the emergency service have arrived at the incident we will be provided with an update."
