A person has been found seriously injured in Ayr town centre today.
Emergency services were called to a scene at River Street just before 12noon following the discovery of the individual.
There are no further details on the person's condition at this time but the road has been closed with investigations ongoing.
A Police Scotland statement reads: "Emergency services are currently on River Street in Ayr after a person was found with serious injuries.
"Officers were called around 11.50am and the road has been closed meantime.
"There is no risk to the wider public but we would ask people to avoid the area."
