A woman has died in a house fire in Melbourne's northwest after 30 firefighters were called to find smoke billowing from the roof.
The fire sparked a police investigation after emergency services arrived to find the St Albans property in flames about 6.15am on Friday.
The roof was alight when fire crews arrived, with smoke and flames billowing as the blaze threatened neighbouring properties.
Thirty firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
Two people inside the home were treated by paramedics.
However a St Albans woman, 32, died at the scene.
The cause of the blaze is unknown and detectives have declared a crime scene.
