Person dies after incident at Glasgow Central Station

A PERSON has died following an incident at Glasgow Central Station.

Police were called to the city centre railway station shortly after 7am on Monday, November 11, following reports of a medical emergency.

Emergency crews, including officers and medics, rushed to the scene.

The Scottish Ambulance Service revealed they sent an ambulance, a trauma team, and a paramedic response unit to the station.

However, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the British Transport Police have since revealed the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 6.57am (Monday, November 11) to attend an incident in Glasgow Central Station.

"We dispatched one ambulance, one trauma team, and one paramedic response unit (PRU) to the scene.”

A British Transport Police spokesperson added: “Officers were called to Glasgow Central railway station at 7.21am (11 November) to reports of a medical emergency.

"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
