A person has died after being hit by a train in Wrexham. The incident happened just after 2pm on Wednesday, December 21 and British Transport Police were called shortly after.
BTP said they were called to a casualty on the tracks at Wrexham General Station shortly before 2.15pm. They were joined by the Welsh Ambulance Service, North Wales Police, Wales Air ambulance and North Wales Fire and Rescue, North Wales Live reports.
Rail services were stopped as the emergency services dealt with the incident, delaying some journeys by up to two hours. A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "Shortly before 2.15pm today, we were called to reports of a person on the tracks at Wrexham General Railway Station.
"We are in attendance to the incident, alongside colleagues at BTP, Wales Air Ambulance and WAST." Sadly, the person was declared dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious by the BTP.
