A Lancashire Police helicopter spent the evening searching for a driver who had fled the seen of a crash, leaving a passenger injured in their car.
Lancashire Police confirmed that officers were called to Renacres Lane in Halsall at around 7.38pm on Tuesday, September 6 at around 7.40pm to reports of a crash between two cars. A woman passenger, believed to have been in the blue Volkswagon, was left behind while the driver ran off from the scene, with police using a helicopter to try and find him.
Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries with enquiries still ongoing to find the driver.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson told the ECHO : "We were called to Renacres Lane, Halsall, at 7.38pm on Tuesday, after a collision between two cars. Two people suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
"The driver of one of the cars left the scene and enquiries are continuing to trace that person."
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two fire engines from Skelmersdale and Ormskirk were called to a road traffic collision involving two cars on Renacres Lane, Halsall.
"Firefighters used cutting equipment and worked with paramedics to release one person from a vehicle. Two people were taken to hospital by paramedics."
