Perrie Edwards has revealed that despite being in a relationship for eight years and sharing a two-year-old son together, she and footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have never lived together.
The former Little Mix singer, 30, who releases her debut solo single Forget About Us on April 12, made the surprising admission while appearing on this weekend’s episode of ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show.
Last year, midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain moved from Premier League’s Liverpool to Super Lig side Besiktas in Turkey after signing a three-year transfer contract.
Speaking about their relationship and whether it’s difficult being apart while he’s playing football in Turkey, Edwards said, “I can’t lie, it is hard. When he was playing for Liverpool and based inManchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn’t get a lot of time off.
“I’m trying to launch a solo career whilst having a two year old so it is a lot to juggle but we make it work for the ones we love don’t we?” Perrie adds, “We’ve never lived together anyway - the whole eight years we’ve been in a relationship we’ve never actually lived together.”
Host Ross also pressed her on a song she co-wrote with RAYE about their relationship.
“Full disclosure, me and my partner don’t argue, we’re very laid back and very chilled,” she began. “But at the same time, I can be a little bit of a petty b***h and I can’t help it. I don’t know whether it’s my star sign - cancer. I’m very stubborn, I’m very emotional but not in the best way.
“I will hold a grudge for anything he might say. I just can’t help the way I am, I’m just like that but we just started writing a song about it and I just thought the lyrics were super relatable.”
