Tottenham star Ivan Perisic scored a superb header for Croatia to level their World Cup last-16 clash Japan. The versatile veteran met a delightful Dejan Lovren cross with a powerful header that flew into the bottom corner clawing his nation back into the game.
Perisic arrived in north London from Inter in the summer and has provided seven assists from 21 appearances but is yet to find the back of the net for Spurs.
The 33-year-old has featured predominantly at wing back under Antonio Conte but for his country often starts on the left of a front three. In Croatia's 4-1 win over Canada in the group stages, Perisic grabbed two assists and further showed his attacking quality with a goal in the last-16 fixture with Japan.

Croatia were comfortably second best in the first half with Celtic star Daizen Maeda deservedly putting Japan in front just before half time. Zlatko Dalic's side continued to struggle in the early stages of the second half as well but Perisic came up in a big moment with a terrific header to level the game, here is how twitter reacted:
@spurs_are_ - Perisic 1 Tomiyasu 0
@MarcSpurs - What a header from Perisic.. great goal from the ‘old man’
@iris_zfx - Still rooting for Japan but that Perisic goal was a beauty
@JoeCallaghan84 - Such a big game player. That's Ivan Perisic's 10th major championship goal in the last eight years, three of them in knockout games. He's scored at WC 2014, Euro 2016, WC 2018, Euro 2020 and now WC 2022. Dynamite.
@terry65919713 - Perisic equalises for Croatia against Japan with the best headed goal of the World Cup so far.
@GolDyasher_ - I knew it, Croatia would score a goal. What a header by Perisic.
