Newcastle fans were relieved as the full-time whistle blew at Turf Moor as a goalless draw between Burnley and Watford was confirmed.
The fixture had already been postponed twice due to Covid concerns but there was no hiding place on Saturday night as Toon fans had to endure the nervy encounter from their settees.
The Magpies’ main relegation rivals could have arguably asked for the game to be called off a third time, with gale-force winds disrupting the pattern of play throughout.
However, the match went ahead and a 0-0 draw is exactly the result Newcastle supporters had hoped for before the game kicked off.
Fans were quick to share their jubilation at full-time ahead of a crucial week on Tyneside.
