Just two dogs sitting pretty with balloons behind them on a beautiful Canberra morning - could there be anything more adorable?
Canberra pet photographer Ina Jalil knows her stuff and her stunning images have been acknowledged.
Her business, Ina J Photography, recently won the Outstanding Specialised Business award in the 2021 Canberra Region Local Business Awards.
"I was not expecting to win this award given the amazing local businesses that were the finalists in this category," Ina said.
"However, I have worked hard over the last two plus years building my business and providing my clients beautiful photographs of their dogs to put on their wall."
Ina specialises in photographing pets outdoors, with beautiful Canberra locations as the backdrop.
Last year she photographed more than 240 dogs, two bunnies and a cat.
Ina started focusing on pet photography in 2019, after her dog Mac passed away from heart failure aged nine.
"Mac is the reason why I started doing pet photography. I couldn't find a specialised outdoor pet photography back then when Mac was sick. I was, however, able to take some beautiful pictures of him but my pet photography skills back then aren't as great as it is now," she said.
"I wanted others to be able to have beautiful memories and keepsakes to remember their dogs by - to put it up in their homes so you smile and remember all the good times with them.
"Although it's hard losing him, every time I see this photo of Mac, which is up on my wall, it reminds me of his quirky personality and character."
Ina hopes to photograph more pets this year, not just dogs, and has started to incorporate studio work.
But she is passionate about outdoor shoots and will continue to do them.
